WB Games Montréal released a trailer for the long-awaited Gotham Knights video game during the DC FanDome event. The game throws players into the capes of Batman's former apprentices and allies, who step up to protect Gotham City after the Dark Knight's apparent demise.Upon the release of the game's reveal trailer at the DC FanDome event, DC Publisher and Chief Creative Officer Jim Lee provided a special sketch for the occasion. "So how intense was that [Gotham Knights] trailer from [WB Games]?!" Lee wrote. Additionally, longtime colorist Alex Sinclair posted a full-color version of the same sketch to social media.
Th artwork features Nightwing, Robin/Tim Drake, Batgirl/Barbara Gordon and Red Hood/Jason Todd. Nightwing is armed with his escrima sticks, Tim wields his signature bo staff, Barbara has twin tonfas and Jason dual-wields two pistols.
WB Games Montreal has been developing Gotham Knights since December 2018. It was recently revealed that the game will feature the Court of Owls and the Talons as antagonists. Lee praised the Court's co creators Scott Snyder and Greg Capullo for their influence on the video game in his post. WB Games Montréal is responsible for developing Batman: Arkham Origins, which served as a prequel to the Batman: Arkham video game trilogy.
Developed by WB Games Montréal, Gotham Knights goes on sale in 2021.
