Gotham Knights posted another teaser for the upcoming action-adventure game, this time inviting fans to attend a grand celebration to honor a fallen titan.

The actual video, posted to the game's Twitter account, doesn't reveal any new information regarding gameplay but further reinforces Batman's death. The Masquerade Ball is being held to honor the "life and legacy of Bruce Thomas Wayne." The invitation is rather standard in its wording, requesting that all guests attend in both formal wear and masks. Perhaps most significant is that the venue is The Orchard Hotel, a location in Old Gotham which first appeared in Talon #2. The building was named for R.H. Orchard, a grandmaster for the Court of Owls. In the story, the hotel served as a base of operations for his son Benjamin Orchard, who protected his father's mask.

The Court of Owls is already established to be one of Gotham Knights' primary antagonists, although the inclusion of The Orchard Hotel may provide a hint as to their headquarters in the game. The extent of their involvement is currently unknown; gameplay footage of the Warner Bros. Games Montreal has only shown off Mister Freeze.

Gotham Knights takes place after the death of Batman, who tasks his family of crime-fighters with defending the streets of the city in his stead. Players will step into the boots of Red Hood, Nightwing, Robin and Batgirl as they patrol the skies for villains. The game will be playable either solo with a friend in two-player co-op. Every character has unique abilities and tools; Robin is able to teleport short distances while Red Hood is able to dispatch foes from afar with his pistols.

While fans of DC Comics may be excited to join the Bat-Family on another adventure, those wanting to play as more... dubious characters should keep an eye on Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League. Rocksteady Entertainment's action-adventure shooter tasks players, as the titular Squad, with fighting back against the world's superheroes, following a brain-washing invasion by Brainiac. The game stars Harley Quinn, King Shark, Captain Boomerang and Deadshot in an open-world Metropolis setting.

While little is currently known about Gotham Knights, more can be expected from DC FanDome 2021. The game is launching in 2022 for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One and PC.
