Gotham Knights is seemingly overhauling its highly-anticipated co-op mode.

Based on a screenshot posted to Reddit by u/SuspiciousTension19, the PlayStation Store listing for Warner Bros. Games Montréal's upcoming superhero game specifies that it supports "up to 4 online players with PS Plus." When Gotham Knights was originally unveiled, the developer promised fans it would feature a two-player co-op mode despite the inclusion of four playable characters. Fans have taken the store page update to mean that the game's cooperative mode has been upgraded to allow for more players. WB Games Montréal has yet to address the change.

While the upgraded co-op mode has yet to be officially announced, gamers are excited at the prospect of adventuring around Gotham City as the Bat Family. Gotham Knights allows players to step into the boots of Nightwing, Red Hood, Tim Drake's Robin and Barbara Gordon's Batgirl as the team works together to keep the streets clear of criminals. The game's early trailers teased what fans will be able to do in co-op, including unique team-based takedowns and combat moves.

Gotham Knights takes place after the untimely death of Bruce Wayne aka Batman. In the wake of his absence, Gotham City turns to chaos as the Caped Crusader's rogues gallery rises up to reclaim their turf. The Dark Knight leaves his collection of proteges with the task of cleaning up the city in his stead. While many of the game's antagonists are still a mystery, fans can look forward to taking on Mister Freeze and The Penguin, presumably amongst several others.

One of Gotham Knight's core enemies is the Court of Owls, a shadowy organization of powerful people that have quietly pulled Gotham's strings for centuries. Players will need to take down and expose the group while both avoiding and eliminating its Talons, a collection of brainwashed assassins programmed to kill their targets with brutal efficiency. The DC Fandome 2021 trailer revealed that gamers will be taking on a variety of different Talons, many of which were designed and created especially for the game. Warner Bros. Games Montréal worked closely with Court of Owls creators Scott Snyder and Greg Capullo to build on the villains' mythos.

Gotham Knights launches on Oct, 25. The game will be available on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One and PC.
