Gotham may finally be ready to reveal the true Joker, according to new set photos that have recently hit the internet.
The pictures show Cameron Monaghan, the actor who portrays Jerome Valeska, dressed in full Joker makeup and costume. Introduced in Season One, Jerome has long served as a stand-in for the more familiar Joker. The show has also gone back and forth as to whether or not the character will one day become the Crown Prince of Crime himself.

It was previously reported back in February that the one, true Joker would finally show up on Gotham in Season Four. These images seem to finally confirm this, as well as the fact that Jerome is the Joker. It is believed that one of the last episodes of the season will be titled “One Bad Day,” which is a direct reference to the Joker’s origin story as told in The Killing Joke. It’s certainly possible that these images are from the filming of that episode.
This is legitimately so perfect, we’ve barely seen anything and it’s already one of my favorite live-action Joker designs pic.twitter.com/T8UCv3KL3e
