Fish Mooney has died and been resurrected more times than anyone else on Gotham, but it looks as if Jada Pinkett Smith's is finally dead for good.
After being stabbed through the stomach by Jim Gordon late in Season 3, things didn't look good for Fish, though fans of the character surely held out hope she'd cheat death once again. However, in an interview with ComicBook.com, Gotham executive producer John Stephen stated outright that Fish will not return from the grave once more. "I'm afraid that's it," Stephens said. "Now, that one was it. At a certain point, you gotta say 'Definitely.' People die at a certain point, and that's the second or third time they die [on Gotham]."
The Fish-less Gotham Season 4 will see Bruce Wayne step up as the Dark Knight, donning a prototype version of Batman's suit built by Lucius Fox to fight crime. “Lucius has worked for Wayne Industries and he may work there again one day, and for right now he doesn’t want to see Bruce get hurt. So he finds a way of helping without interfering,” showrunner Danny Cannon recently explained.
Returning Thursday, Sept. 21, on Fox, Gotham stars Ben McKenzie as James Gordon, Donal Logue as Harvey Bullock, David Mazouz as Bruce Wayne, Robin Lord Taylor as Penguin, Cameron Bicondova as Selina Kyle, Erin Richards as Barbara Kean and Sean Pertwee as Alfred Pennyworth.
