Deadline reports that Nicholas D'Agosto has been cast as Harvey Dent -- better known as the man who will become Two-Face -- in FOX's "Gotham" series in a recurring role, with the option to become a regular in the series' second season. The "Gotham" version of the character is described by Deadline as "a bright, charming, idealistic Assistant District Attorney whose sole mission is to eradicate the crime and corruption that has poisoned Gotham." The description also noted that Dent will give viewers a "fleeting glimpse" of his eventual transformation into Two-Face.
D'Agosto is likely best known for his role as Dr. Ethan Haas on "Masters of Sex," though he has also appeared in "Final Destination 5" and had a significant guest spot in "Heroes'" second season as West Rosen. The actor also had a brief guest role on "The Office" as Hunter, the assistant to Melora Hardin's character Jan Levinson. He also had a role in the pilot for "How I Met Your Dad," the follow-up to "How I Met Your Mother" that did not make it to series.
No further details were disclosed as to when D'Agosto would appear as Harvey Dent on "Gotham."
"Gotham" airs Mondays on FOX.
