"Gotham's" second season finale introduced a number of wild variables into the show's mythology that will undoubtedly have an impact on the upcoming season three. Many of those variables were science experiments that were previously housed in Indian Hill, including the character that will use his abilities to age up Poison Ivy to adulthood and -- surprisingly -- a doppelganger for young Bruce Wayne (David Mazouz).

While we briefly saw the lookalike in the season two finale, "Gotham" shared another look at the new character (also played by Mazouz) on Twitter.

Mazouz spoke about his two "Gotham" characters earlier this month, saying that while they look alike, “everything else about them, they think differently, they talk differently, they walk differently, they communicate differently. He’s pretty weird, the other guy.” Mazouz also added that yes, Bruce Wayne will meet his twin.

The new character might also have a larger role to play in the show this year, as executive producer Ken Woodruff also revealed. “I can imagine that anyone from the Court of Owls to villains would want to get their hands on him because, if you can pretend to be Bruce Wayne, you can control Wayne Enterprises and you can influence a lot of important people around the city. That could be pretty lucrative and powerful, if you want it to be.”

“Gotham” returns to Fox for its third season on September 19, 2016.
