With the final season of Gotham starting early next month, many fans are no doubt anxiously awaiting the moment when Bruce Wayne, played by David Mazouz, finally dons the famous Batman costume. But before that happens, Mazouz has come up with his own unique way of bidding the series a fond farewell.

Uploaded on his personal Instagram, Mazouz displays an image of a fogged up window with the word "Gotham" written in it, with the lights in the background and the rain on the glass giving the image a somber feeling. Mazouz completes the post by merely saying "Goodbye Gotham" in the description, almost as if he were saying it to a loved one.

This isn't the only way Mazouz contributed to the end of the series, as a few days ago, he and co-star Sean Pertwee, who plays Alfred, rented a waffle food truck for the show's wrap party, as well as penning a tribute to Pertwee before the series finished production. But the picture on Mazouz's Instagram has a bittersweet twist to it, as, while Mazouz was still saying his goodbyes to the show, he still managed to do so in a lighthearted manner.

Having played a young Bruce Wayne since the first season of the series, Mazouz showed audiences the character's evolution from a sad and bitter boy who wanted justice for his parents' murders to a hero seeking to prevent someone else from suffering a similar tragedy. And with the character becoming Batman in Gotham's final season, Mazouz has given people a Bruce Wayne no one will forget.
