As Gotham hurtles to its conclusion, many well-known Batman characters have grown into the iconic versions of themselves, and it looks like that evolution is going to take a big leap forward for Selina Kyle as she moves closer to her destiny as Catwoman. This transformation will complicate her relationship with her friend and love interest Bruce Wayne.

“I think the #CatBat fans will really love this season, and I think they’ll really hate this season, too, because the struggle this season for them isn’t because of something Selina can control but because of what she’s doing that she can’t control,” Selina actor Camren Bicondova told TVLine. “It’s the same dynamic, but it’s also very different because it’s coming from a different perspective, and that’s what I’ve loved about this season. The writers took Selina’s complexity and electrocuted it five times.”

In the most recent episode, Selina regained the ability to walk thanks to a seed given to Bruce by Poison Ivy -- but that’s not all the seed did for her. In the final moments of the show, we got a glimpse of Selina’s eyes turning bright green and looking very catlike. Per Bicondova's comments above, this will only serve to complicate her relationship with Bruce.

Airing Thursdays at 8 p.m. ET/PT on Fox, Gotham stars Ben McKenzie as James Gordon, Donal Logue as Harvey Bullock, David Mazouz as Bruce Wayne, Robin Lord Taylor as Penguin, Camren Bicondova as Selina Kyle, Erin Richards as Barbara Kean and Sean Pertwee as Alfred Pennyworth. The fifth and final season premiered on Jan. 3, and will run for 12 episodes.
