The jokes keep coming about Henry Cavill’s digitally removed mustache in Justice League, and now they are coming from a new source: the latest version of the Clown Prince of Crime.

Cameron Monaghan, who portrays Jerome Valeska on Fox’s live-action show Gotham, jokingly commented on Superman’s facial hair in comparison to his character’s recent reveal in last week’s episode:

Monaghan playfully refers to the decision for Cavill not to shave his mustache for Justice League while he was filming 2018’s Mission: Impossible: Fallout, resulting in a CGI removal of the facial hair that was more than noticeable to moviegoers. Cameron’s tweet also pokes fun at DC Extended Universe fans’ desire for Zack Snyder’s final cut of Justice League.

Of course, Monaghan followed up on Twitter with a lighthearted response to his previous troll:

Ever since Cameron Monaghan debuted in Gotham, his character has slowly manifested mannerisms of Batman’s arch nemesis, The Joker. In last week’s episode, Jerome’s twin brother, Jeremiah, seemed to get the Harlequin of Hate treatment when he was doused with laughing gas, causing him to develop a devilish smile and a maniacal laugh, seemingly presenting the birth of The Joker.

Gotham airs on Thursdays at 8/7c on FOX.
