As Gotham enters its final stretch of episodes, a new clip from tonight's episode finds Bruce Wayne contemplating his future in the city.
Tonight's episode, "The Trial of Jim Gordon," has Bruce treat future Catwoman Selina Kyle to a candlelit dinner. He confides in her that he feels most of the hardships that have fallen on Gotham recently have been his fault. While Selina implores him to stay and defend his home, Bruce wonders aloud if the best thing for the city's future is his absence.
"If this city really is my home, then may be the best thing I could do for it is just leave," a brooding Bruce admits before the pair are interrupted by an unexpected guest.
The episode is written by series star Ben McKenzie and directed by co-star Erin Richards, with Jim Gordon hallucinating a trial for his life after being shot in the line of duty.
Airing Thursdays at 8 p.m. ET/PT on Fox, Gotham stars Ben McKenzie as James Gordon, Donal Logue as Harvey Bullock, David Mazouz as Bruce Wayne, Robin Lord Taylor as Penguin, Camren Bicondova as Selina Kyle, Erin Richards as Barbara Kean and Sean Pertwee as Alfred Pennyworth.
