Gotham's Batman Finally Debuts in New Footage at TCA

Batman on Gotham

Ever since the Fox drama Gotham premiered in 2014, fans have been wondering when they would get an inevitable appearance from the Caped Crusader himself. It came as little surprise when we learned it would happen in the show's fifth and final season, but for those in attendance at the Television Critics Association's 2019 press tour, Christmas came early.

"i just saw BATMAN in the #GOTHAM sizzle reel!!!" one journalist tweeted. "We just saw the first footage of Batman in the series finale, along with full on Penguin and Riddler Oswald and Ed," another posted.

Unfortunately, those not lucky enough to catch a glimpse of the sizzle reel will have to wait for the series finale to finally see Gotham's take on the Dark Knight in live-action. In the meantime, though, we still have an image of a shadowy, pointy-eared silhouette to hold us over.

Airing Thursdays at 8 p.m. ET/PT on Fox, Gotham stars Ben McKenzie as James Gordon, Donal Logue as Harvey Bullock, David Mazouz as Bruce Wayne, Robin Lord Taylor as Penguin, Camren Bicondova as Selina Kyle, Erin Richards as Barbara Kean and Sean Pertwee as Alfred Pennyworth.
