Fans now have a better look at Batman villain Bane from the upcoming fifth and final season of Gotham.

Actor JW Cortés, who plays Detective Alvarez in the Fox drama, shared a photo on Twitter of himself with co-star Shane West in his Bane costume. Perhaps the clearest look yet at the character, the snapshot is accompanied by the caption, “Keep your friends close and your enemies even closer and with that, let me introduce y’all to my new friend #Bane.”

It’s unknown what role Alavarez will play in the season, although it’s likely he’ll be fighting alongside Jim Gordon and the Gotham City Police Department against the chaos unleashed with the Season 4 finale.

The new season of Gotham sets up an adaptation of "No Man’s Land," the 1999 DC comics storyline in which the U.S. government evacuates and then abandons the city following a massive earthquake. On the Fox drama, the the events unfold after its proto-Joker, Jeremiah Valeska, detonates bombs throughout Gotham, destroying all of the bridges out of the city.

Returning in 2019 on Fox, Gotham stars Ben McKenzie as James Gordon, Donal Logue as Harvey Bullock, David Mazouz as Bruce Wayne, Robin Lord Taylor as Penguin, Camren Bicondova as Selina Kyle, Erin Richards as Barbara Kean, and Sean Pertwee as Alfred Pennyworth.
