A report from earlier this month indicating that Fox's "Gotham" was possibly adding Vicki Vale to its cast has turned out to be true -- sorta. TV Line has learned that the proto-Batman drama has indeed added a member of the Vale family to its cast -- although it's not Vicki.

Jamie Chung, known by fans as Mulan on ABC's "Once Upon a Time," has joined "Gotham's" third season in a recurring role as Valerie Vale. Like Vicki, the character is also described as a reporter for the Gotham Gazette -- a "crackerjack" one "dead set on uncovering the truth behind Indian Hill." She'll be pressuring Jim Gordon for information about the story in season three. Valerie is also Vicki's aunt; that makes sense, as Vicki Vale is traditionally a love interest for Bruce Wayne, a character played by 15-year-old David Mazouz. It's not yet known if Vicki Vale will show up on "Gotham."

Chung's take on Valerie Vale isn't the only new character for the season. The Fox series is also in the process of casting a new Poison Ivy, as the character is expected to take on a more prominent role in the upcoming season.

"Gotham" is set to return for its third season on Monday, September 19 at 8 PM ET.
