HBO Max released the first official teaser and character posters for its Gossip Girl reboot.
The trailer features the main cast at a glitzy socialite party, snapping selfies and sipping cocktails. "You've gotten so comfortable. Thinking you’re in control of your image, your actions, the narrative. But you forgot one thing: I can see you. And before I’m through, I’ll make sure you see me too," the titular Gossip Girl says before signing off with her trademark "XOXO."

The new posters feature each character with either an "X" or an "O" over their faces, calling back to Gossip Girl's signature.
HBO Max previously released cast portraits for the Gossip Girl reboot, which features an entirely new cast of characters. The series will also address the new age of social media, taking place nine years after the original Gossip Girl's site went offline.
Both the 2007 Gossip Girl series and the reboot are based on the Gossip Girl novels written by Cecily von Ziegesar. Josh Schwartz, Stephanie Savage and Joshua Safran -- the original creators of the 2007 series -- will be returning for the reboot, with Safran serving as the showrunner. Schwartz and Savage will also produce the Gossip Girl reboot under their Fake Empire banner.
Gossip Girl stars Jordan Alexander, Eli Brown, Thomas Doherty, Tavi Gevinson, Emily Alyn Lind, Evan Mock, Zion Moreno, Whitney Peak and Savannah Lee Smith. The series premieres July 8 on HBO Max.
