Gordon Out, Scott In For 24 Movie?

When (or if) a 24 movie clocks into the silver screen, it'll surely see Kiefer Sutherland back in his all-time most celebrated role as counter-terrorist operative Jack Bauer. But there's one familiar face who might not return for the franchise's theatrical future: longtime executive producer and showrunner Howard Gordon.

"The movie is something that right now I’m not engaged or involved in," the writer and producer told Assignment X during a recent interview, going on to confirm that a previous version of the movie from writer Billy Ray is officially dead in the water. "There was a script, but ultimately it wasn’t the right proposition. It wasn’t strong enough or compelling enough to the studio obviously to move ahead with it."

But there's still hope for Bauer worshippers all around the world, as Gordon stated: "The rumors are that [director] Tony Scott has an idea that he is going to run it by or has run it by Kiefer Sutherland. I don’t know what the status of it is."
