A new Goosebumps limited comic series from current license-holder IDW Publishing entitled Goosebumps: Secrets of the Swamp will soon be on the horizon from writer Marieke Nijkamp, artist Yasmin Flores Montanez and colorist Rebecca Nalty.

The upcoming five-issue series -- which will be the fourth Goosebumps limited series published by IDW --  will focus on 12-year-old Blake, who is forced to spend her summer in her aunt's home in Fever Swamp, which causes her to think her vacation will be full of "video games, mosquito bites, and a whole lot of nothing." Of course, this being a Goosebumps story, Blake soon finds herself caught up in "a spooky turf war" between werewolves and wolf hunters, forcing her to rely on her video game skills in order to survive.

"I have fond memories of Goosebumps terrifying me as a kid, and I'm thrilled to get to play around in Fever Swamp now," Nijkamp said in a statement. "Secrets is a story all about finding your place in a new town, figuring out who your friends are, and dealing with the deadly monsters that lurk in the shadows. With Yasmin bringing the characters to life in such a wonderful way, I hope you'll get caught in its snare too. Of course, in Fever Swamp, all secrets have sharp teeth, so best be careful you don't get bitten."

"I’ve wanted to work with Marieke for a long time, and I’m absolutely thrilled that we’re doing a Goosebumps book together," co-editor Chase Marotz, who will be overseeing the title with Elizabeth Brei, added. "Secrets of the Swamp captures the same magic of the stories that terrified and delighted me as a kid, and I think everyone’s going to love the book that she, Yasmin, and Rebecca are creating."

Secrets of the Swamp's Retailer Incentive variant cover from artist Clara Meath and the second a regular cover by artist Bill Underwood can be found below:
