This October, Halloween comes early in the form of a Goosebumps sequel.

The first trailer for Goosebumps 2: Haunted Halloween has arrived, teasing an untold R.L. Stine story while bringing back plenty of Easter eggs from the classic horror novella series.

The trailer has two boys, played by Jeremy Ray Taylor and Caleel Harris, explore Stine's former home, long since abandoned since the events of the 2015 original film. After finding a long-lost manuscript hidden away, the friends accidentally a new wave of horror-tinged comic mischief on their small town led by the sinister ventriloquist dummy Slappy.

Originally slated for release this past January, the Goosebumps sequel looks to recapture the nostalgia and black magic that made the previous film a success.

Directed by Ari Sandel (The DUFF), Goosebumps 2: Haunted Halloween stars Jack Black, Madison Iseman, Jeremy Ray Taylor, Caleel Harris, Ken Jeong, and Chris Parnell. The film is scheduled for release by Sony on October 12.
