It's the end of the year, which means it is time for year-in-review articles, videos and lists.

This year, Google's Year in Search video decided to use "heroes" as its theme. While the video appropriately features military personnel, first responders and supermoms, it also takes time to showcase the superheroes that graced our screens -- big and small.

The video begins with the instantly famous shot of Iron Man holding the Infinity Gauntlet from Avengers: Endgame, followed by a look at Captain Marvel from her solo film. The video also features a scene from Stranger Things Season 3 and a glimpse at Arya Stark from the final season of Game of Thrones.

The fact that Tony Stark leads off the video is an impressive feat for Marvel Studios, and should serve as a display of their impact on the cultural canon and zeitgeist. The movie broke box office record after box office record, eventually becoming the highest grossing film of all time.

The video also highlights the year's biggest sports, music and technology events, as well as a collection of viral videos across all genres. Unlike previous years, however, the video does not honor those that passed on in the last year.
