Parks & Recreation star Nick Offerman has joined Good Omens, the Amazon adaptation of the acclaimed 1990 fantasy novel by Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman.

Good Omens or, more fully, Good Omens: The Nice and Accurate Prophecies of Agnes Nutter, Witch, is a comedic take of the coming of the apocalypse. It centers on the angel Aziraphale and the demon Crowley, who attempt to short-circuit the End Times, and the Antichrist who, because of a mixup at the hospital, is a seemingly normal boy raised by English parents.

Offerman will play the American ambassador to Britain, the father to the child Warlock, whom Aziraphale and Crowley mistakenly believe will grow up to become the Antichrist. He joins a cast that already includes the likes of David Tennant, Michael Sheen, Miranda Richardson and Jon Hamm.

Produced by BBC Studios, Narrativia and The Blank Corporation, the six-episode Good Omens is written by Gaiman, who also serves as showrunner. The project is filming now in South Africa.

Premiering in 2019 on Amazon Prime, Good Omens stars David Tennant, Michael Sheen, Jon Hamm, Miranda Richardson, Adria Arjona, Josie Lawrence, Anna Maxwell Martin, Jack Whitehall, and Nick Offerman.
