Some of the recurring cast members that will appear in Season 2 of Good Omens are taking on different roles than they had in Season 1.

According to a press release from Prime Video, joining lead actors Michael Sheen and David Tennant will be Michael McKean, Gloria Obianyo, Miranda Richardson, Maggie Service, Reece Shearsmith, Nina Sosanya and Paul Adeyefa. The press did not reveal what roles the actors will be playing, but with the exception of Adeyafa, all of them appeared in the show's first season. However, it was noted that some of them may be playing different characters in the second season, so there's no telling which of their Season 1 characters will return.

In the show's first season, McKean played Sergeant Shadwell, the last officer of the once-proud Witchfinder army. He ended the season by retiring from duty to live with Madame Tracy (Richardson), a part-time medium and courtesan. Shearsmith played William Shakespeare, one of the historical figures Aziraphale and Crowley met during their time on Earth, while Obianyo played the angel Uriel, a member of Heaven's army. Sosanya and Service played Sister Mary Loquacious and Sister Theresa Garrulous respectively, both former Satanic nuns of the Chattering Order of St. Beryl.

The release also included a statement from co-author and co-showrunner Neil Gaiman, who said, "I am so happy to be back here on the streets of Soho, watching, every day, the glorious performances of Michael Sheen and David Tennant. I miss having Terry Pratchett's genius, but it does feel like we are still all walking around inside his head. It’s been an absolute pleasure to have the brilliant John Finnemore co-write this season's story shenanigans with me, and to work with director and my co-showrunner Douglas Mackinnon as he steers the ship, along with our astonishing crew, who have returned to do it again."

Mackinnon added, "Having a company of players reuniting for this second season of Good Omens is like bringing a family back together, this time in Scotland. Not only the cast, but also many of our Good Omens Season One crew have reassembled. Our team is being enriched with new talent on both sides of the camera so I am excited to be at the helm for six more episodes of what we hope will be heavenly entertainment.”

Season 2 of Good Omens does not yet have a release date. Season 1 is available to stream on Amazon Prime Video.
