With the premiere of Amazon's adaptation of Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett's Good Omens' two months away, Gaiman has announced who will portray Death in the upcoming miniseries.
On his Twitter account, Gaiman, who also serves as a writer, executive producer and showrunner on the miniseries adaptation of his 1990 novel of the same name, posted a short video revealing Death's appearance and that he would be portrayed by Brian Cox.
So for anybody wondering... The amazing Brian Cox plays Death in #GoodOmens. This is what Death looks like, when he's not on a motorbike anyway. (Watch the trailer tomorrow.) pic.twitter.com/ARmFMM97uc— Neil Gaiman (@neilhimself) March 5, 2019
Cox perhaps is best known for his performance as Colonel William Stryker in 2003's X2: X-Men United, the Captain in both Super Troopers films and the villainous primate shelter manager in 2011's Rise of the Planet of the Apes.
Additionally, Gaiman announced that a new trailer for the miniseries would premiere tomorrow, providing fans with a more extensive look at the six-episode story of the forces of Heaven and Hell searching for the missing Antichrist on Earth to bring about the heralded apocalypse.
Premiering May 31 on Amazon, Good Omens stars David Tennant, Michael Sheen, Jon Hamm, Jack Whitehall, Michael McKean, Miranda Richardson, Benedict Cumberbatch, Brian Cox and Frances McDormand.
