Aziraphale and Crowley are back in the first official photo from Prime Video's Good Omens Season 2.

As production on Good Omens Season 2 gets underway, Amazon shared a first-look still of stars David Tennant and Michael Sheen in their signature costumes: Sheen's Aziraphale with his white curls and favorite trenchcoat, and Tennant's Crowley with his shock of red hair and round sunglasses, which prevent ordinary humans from seeing his demon eyes. In the photo, the angel and the demon are looking off-camera, and whatever they're seeing has inspired a look of surprised bemusement from Aziraphale and a devilish grin from Crowley.

Season 1 adapted Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett's original 1990 novel Good Omens: The Nice and Accurate Prophecies of Agnes Nutter, Witch, which followed Aziraphale and Crowley as they attempted to prevent the coming of the Antichrist and, by extension, the end of the world. However, the novel was a one-off story, so Season 2 will head into uncharted territory. According to the official Season 2 synopsis,

Originally based on Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman's international best-selling novel, the new season will explore storylines that go beyond the original source material to illuminate the uncanny friendship between Aziraphale, a fussy angel and rare book dealer, and the fast-living demon Crowley. Having been on Earth since The Beginning, and with the Apocalypse thwarted, Aziraphale and Crowley are getting back to easy living amongst mortals in London's Soho when an unexpected messenger presents a surprising mystery.

"I am so happy to be back here on the streets of Soho, watching, every day, the glorious performances of Michael Sheen and David Tennant," Gaiman said in a statement. "I miss having Terry Pratchett's genius, but it does feel like we are still all walking around inside his head. It's been an absolute pleasure to have the brilliant John Finnemore co-write this season's story shenanigans with me, and to work with director and my co-showrunner Douglas Mackinnon as he steers the ship, along with our astonishing crew, who have returned to do it again."

"In this season we get to have new adventures with old friends, to solve some extremely mysterious mysteries, and we encounter some entirely new humans (living, dead, and otherwise), angels, and demons," he continued. "We were lucky in the first season to have so many outstanding actors taking part, so I took pleasure in inviting people back, wherever we could, some in the roles they played originally, some in new parts written just for them."

These characters have not been revealed at this time. Gaiman will continue on as an executive producer and will showrun the series alongside Douglas Mackinnon.

Season 2 of Good Omens doesn't yet have a release date. Season 1 is available to stream on Amazon Prime.
