WARNING: The following contains spoilers for NBC's Good Girls Season 4, Episode 4, "Dave."

NBC's Good Girls finally had Beth (Christina Hendricks) confessing about her criminal empire in order to save her husband, Dean (Matthew Lillard) from taking the fall for her after she ran a counterfeiting and laundering scheme. It's been a long, windy road but the FBI was grateful for this, especially now that it gave them leverage to use her and the ladies to bring down Rio (Manny Montana), the real villain of the show. However, this kickstarted a chain of events in the latest episode that resulted in the death of one of Beth's biggest enemies. Sadly, it could be the end of her too.

Beth was in a predicament as she needed Rio alive so the deal could go through so she, her crew and their families could all get new identities and a clean slate. The problem was that she had already hired the sadistic hitman, Fitz, to kill Rio. Now, she had to frantically track him down and pull the job. Unfortunately, Fitz refused to quit because if he didn't kill Rio, that meant he'd have to kill Beth for her to remain silent.

Additionally, Fitz knew she and Rio had an affair, and since he himself was spurned by Beth, he was chomping at the bit to kill Rio anyway. This led Beth to admit to Rio that she needed someone killed, and while viewers were led to believe it was the FBI agent in charge of the operation, Dave, it was actually Fitz. It came to a head when Fitz was trying to snipe Rio out at one of his clubs, only for the hooded man being marked in the streets to reveal that he was a decoy and not the real Rio.

When Fitz realized he was being played, he tried to make a break for it, but right then and there, Rio appeared beside him. He was wearing his signature black hoodie, making it clear he was duping Fitz all along. Fitz was glad to see Beth playing dirty but just when he tried to grab a gun to shoot Rio, the gangster picked up on it and stopped him. He cocked his gun and killed Fitz off-screen, before returning to Beth with news of the hit.

However, Rio confessed the man didn't know who Dave was, subtly letting Beth know that he knew she lied. He figured out the setup, that Beth hired the man to kill him and was now trying to cover her tracks. Rio's a smart man, so he probably also knew that Beth really was an informant and not pretending to be one as she tried to make him believe. In the end, he drove off with a sly smile, leaving her more scared than ever since the plan had backfired, putting her family in even more danger.

Good Girls stars Christina Hendricks, Mae Whitman, Retta, Matthew Lillard, Reno Wilson and Manny Montana. Season 4 airs Sundays at 10 p.m. ET/PT on NBC.
