The Good Burger crew is back on the job for Paramount+'s sequel and fans can finally get their first glimpse at the sequel's restaurant.

CBR has exclusive images of Good Burger 2's set which brings back plenty of imagery and colors fans of the original film have come to expect. The images of the converted Friendly's restaurant that shuttered several years ago were taken in North Providence, RI and no cast or crew were on location and the inside of the structure is notably empty. The revamped Home of the Good Burger includes authentic graffiti (including a mention of the famous "Ed's Sauce"), and updated paint job and plenty of signage advertising everything from "Good Fries" to "Good Chili."

In March 2023, Kenan Thompson and Kel Mitchell, the iconic comedic duo, shocked many fans by announcing that a Good Burger sequel was in development. With production due to kick off in May, a release date has yet to be nailed down but speculation has it that the film should hit Paramount+ in late 2023. "I can't believe it's been a little over 25 years since great customer service was born at Good Burger!" Thompson said in a statement. "Being a part of something so many generations of people have come to love has made me so proud and now to be back where it all began working on the sequel is surreal! Love performing with my brother Kel and can't wait to show the fans what these characters have been up to since we last saw them."

Good Burger's Legacy

The first Good Burger film was inspired by a sketch that originally aired on the series All That which featured the same aesthetic and shared several characters. While Mitchell played the role of Ed in both the show and the movie, Thompson's character was tweaked. The SNL alum originally played a construction worker who became increasingly frustrated with Ed but the movie gave him the role of Dexter, who also worked at the Good Burger restaurant. While the two colleagues often don't see eye-to-eye, they learn to work together to combat the evil corporation known as Mondo Burger.

While Good Burger received mixed-to-negative reviews when it premiere, the film went on to gain a cult following. Both Thompson and Mitchell have revisited their roles on various occasions, including a sketch for Saturday Night Live and The Tonight Show.

Good Burger 2 does not yet have a solid release date.
