Welcome to the latest edition of Golden Age Christmas, where we will feature a different Golden Age Christmas comic book story every day from now until Christmas Eve!

Today we look at a great 1941 Christmas tale from Will Eisner and the Spirit comic, dubbed, appropriately enough, The Christmas Spirit...

The tale shows three tramps teaching a young hobo "king" the true meaning of the holiday...

As we see, they are compelling him to turn in the money to the Spirit, and just in time (as the Spirit was giving him leniency since it was Christmas).

Cool stuff.

And if you're wondering, "Boy, I wonder if Brian cropped out panels so that he wouldn't have to show Ebony White in this piece?" then, well, you might be on to something. ;)
