Vegeta takes a beating in the new preview pages from Dragon Ball Super's next chapter.

SPOILERS FOR DRAGON BALL SUPER FOLLOW

Chapter 84 of the manga saw Goku and Vegeta do an epic team-up against Gas, the Heeter warrior whose power level was increased to a ridiculous degree thanks to a wish from the Dragon Balls. While it appeared that the Saiyan duo's efforts had paid off, with Vegeta transforming into his Ultra Ego form and finally landing a powerful blow, the preview for Chapter 85 that was released through the series' official website shows the Saiyans struggling to keep up with the power-boosted Heeter once again. Vegeta is shown receiving a beating across several pages, though the website's official caption reads, "Vegeta seems to be recklessly facing down Gas with no regard for his own life, but is there something else going on here that only Goku can sense?!," suggesting that the Saiyans may have another trick up their sleeve.

Fans will have to wait until June 21, when Chapter 85 is officially released on Manga Plus, to find out what it is that Vegeta and Goku are planning.

The producers of the Dragon Ball Super manga confirmed earlier this year that the Granolah the Survivor saga is now nearing its end, though it appears there's still a few more twists and turns to go through before it's completed. The story arc started in 2020 and introduced several new characters to the series, including the eponymous Granolah, a vengeful alien assassin whose species was wiped out by the Saiyans decades ago, as well as the Heeters, a new team of villains who once worked for Frieza. The arc also featured the debut of a Vegeta's latest and most powerful transformation, Ultra Ego, a counterpart to Goku's angelic Ultra Instinct form which is instead influenced by the God of Destruction, Beerus.
