Deadline reports that Patrick Sabongui has been cast in the CW's "The Flash" as Captain David Singh, "a potentially recurring role." Sabongui has appeared in a number of genre television shows and films, including "Sucker Punch," "300" and a guest spot on the CW's "Nikita," and will appear in Legendary Entertainment's upcoming "Godzilla" reboot as Master Sergeant Marcus Waltz.

Captain David Singh is the latest character from "The Flash" comic to receive a live-action counterpart. Created by DC Comics Chief Creative Officer Geoff Johns and artist Francis Manapul, Captain Singh is the Crime Lab Director for the Central City Police Department. In his comic book role, Singh is less than pleased to bring Barry Allen into his lab at the order of his superiors. Johns is also co-writing the pilot and will serve as an executive producer on the show.

Perhaps most interesting about Sabongui's casting is that it won't be the first time he's appeared in the "Arrow"-verse. He's appeared in two previous episodes of "Arrow," according to IMDB: he played a street dealer in "Vertigo" and a soldier in "The Huntress Returns." Maybe he was just undercover.

Sabongui will join the growing cast of "The Flash," which includes Grant Gustin as Barry Allen/The Flash, Candice Patton as Iris West, Rick Cosnett as Detective Eddie Thawne, Danielle Panabaker as Caitlin Snow and Michelle Harrison as Nora Allen.

"The Flash" pilot, written by Johns and "Arrow" executive producers Greg Berlanti and Andrew Kreisberg and directed by David Nutter, is currently in production.
