Disney’s decision to hold off on making Baby Yoda merchandise until after The Mandalorian aired is starting to make a lot more sense.

Kaiju fans found this out the hard way on Tuesday after an online toy leak revealed the new size and armor for King Kong, as well as the inclusion of another fan-favorite Toho monster — Mechagodzilla. This reveal of Mechagodzilla — one of the big green guy’s fiercest foes — doesn’t guarantee that the iconic Kaiju will appear in Godzilla vs. Kong.

Social media users at a toy fair posted pictures showing the first wave of action figures that will accompany the film when it’s released later this year, and they included several shots of the bionic baddie. There’s also a Godzilla figure that appears to have some sort of red armor attached to his backplates, and a King Kong one that has protective gear on as well, along with a giant club in his hand.

The toys were said to have been unveiled at a convention in Hong Kong this week. Several different people posted photos of the display online. Some of the pics have been deleted, but a few still remain.

The other big reveal -- Kong’s new, ginormous size and armor -- isn’t as much of a surprise. Kong: Skull Island made it clear that the powerful primate was young and still growing, and fans got a glimpse of a much-taller Kong in a clip played at Comic Con Experience (CCXP) in Brazil last month. Godzilla is expected to be the same size as he was in Godzilla: King of the Monsters.

Godzilla vs. Kong had been slated for a March 2020 release, but was pushed back to Nov. 20, 2020. It will star Millie Bobby Brown from Stranger Things and King of the Monsters, as well as her on-screen father Kyle Chandler and newcomer Alexander Skarsgard.
