An action figure from Godzilla vs. Kong features Kong wielding a weapon that may give him an edge over Godzilla -- figuratively and literally.

Legendary Pictures has been posting short snippets of footage from Godzilla vs. Kong to its official Twitter account. Twitter user Megat_Hiroki replied to one of these posts with a picture of a Kong action figure holding a "battle-axe" side-by-side with a screenshot of him wielding the same axe against Godzilla.

The axe seems to consist of a tree branch with one of Godzilla's dorsal spikes wedged in. This spike could prove extremely useful to Kong, as the screenshot shows it can absorb or possibly counter Godzilla's atomic breath -- meaning Kong could potentially score a fatal blow against the King of the Monsters.

The Kong figure was shown as part of a toy commercial that featured various action figures of Kong and Godzilla, alongside other Kaiju. The figures feature "battle damage" with bloody claw marks and wounds, hinting at a brutal battle between the two titular Titans.

Godzilla vs. Kong is the latest entry in the "MonsterVerse" of films, and the direct sequel to Godzilla: King of the Monsters. Originally scheduled to premiere last year, the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic pushed the release date back to 2021 -- and Warner Bros. recently pushed it up to March.

Directed by Adam Wingard and written by Eric Pearson and Max Borenstein, Godzilla vs. Kong stars Alexander Skarsgard, Millie Bobby Brown, Rebecca Hall and Brian Tyree Henry. The film arrives in theaters and on HBO Max March 26.
