Godzilla vs. Kong's musical score composer, Junkie XL, shared some behind-the-scenes insight into an epic kaiju fight in the upcoming Legendary Pictures' Monsterverse film.

After the debut of new film footage, film composer Junkie XL elaborated on one scene that was shown recently to fans. "I’m not going to say how this thing ends," he stated. "And then so, this scene that was released today, was it on IGN? Forty seconds of footage? That scene is 18 minutes long and it’s ridiculous," he added, as reported by ScreenRant.

Godzilla vs. Kong's most recent trailer included a snippet that showed an aircraft carrier flight. While the clip was a brief shot of the battling kaiju, fans now know, according to the film's music composer, that the fight sequence lasts much longer in-air than previewed.

Legendary's Monsterverse assigned different directors to each kaiju film in its saga. 2014's Godzilla was directed by Gareth Edwards (Rogue One: A Star Wars Story). 2017's Kong: Skull Island was directed by Jordan Vogt-Roberts (The Kings of Summer). 2019's Godzilla: King of Monsters was directed by Michael Dougherty (Trick 'r Treat).

While Godzilla vs. Kong is the first film of the Monsterverse directed by Adam Wingard, the director previously stated, "I wanted this to feel like the Godzilla that we've been used to for the last few movies, and I wanted Kong to feel like the Kong that we had in Skull Island so that when they fought, it really felt like this was really them going at each other."

After a trailer release of the upcoming kaiju film, Wingard stated that he seeks to put his unique directorial stamp on Godzilla vs. Kong, noting, "I know it looks like it shows a lot but this is only the tip of the monster iceberg."

Godzilla vs. Kong is set five years after the events of Godzilla: King of the Monsters and sees humanity capturing Kong in order to face a rogue Godzilla. The upcoming film also hinted at the appearance of other Kaiju, including a cybernetic organism created from the remains of King Ghidorah.

Directed by Adam Wingard and written by Eric Pearson and Max Borenstein, Godzilla vs. Kong stars Alexander Skarsgard, Millie Bobby Brown, Rebecca Hall and Brian Tyree Henry. The film arrives in theaters and on HBO Max on March 31.
