With the newest installment to the Monsterverse coming up in Godzilla vs Kong the conversation between everyone has become based on which side they're on. While it's known that the two kaiju kings will most likely team up against a third party, in the end, it's still fun to have the conversation about who could emerge victorious in the battle of kings.

While some may be very biased on the winner, it honestly could go either way with King Kong getting a big upgrade in the Monsterverse world of kaiju. Both of these monsters have their strengths and weaknesses that could lead to victory, which may leave fans of the opposing monster uneasy in their choice of a victor.

10 Godzilla Could Win: Due to His Power-Ups

One thing that Godzilla fans are aware of is that the King of Monsters is constantly unlocking new abilities to take on his different monstrous foes. This can go from his very famous burning form, which appeared in Godzilla vs Destroyah and Godzilla: King of the Monsters, to magnetic abilities as seen in Godzilla vs Mechagodzilla.

This could be something that could become a factor in the battle versus King Kong, with Godzilla feeling the need to adapt and get stronger in order to take on his newest opponent

This means that the battle won't just be King Kong versus Godzilla, but instead King Kong and an entire army along with potential enhancements provided by his human allies versus Godzilla. This could also be the reason that King Kong gains the battle-ax shown at the end of the trailer.

8 Godzilla Could Win: Thanks to His Experience

One thing that Godzilla has over almost anything King Kong brings to the table is his experience against some of the strongest kaiju foes in history. While King Kong has taken down some monsters that don't have crazy abilities Godzilla has taken down some on another level.

The famed enemy and nemesis to Godzilla, King Ghidorah, is a giant testament to this claim. If Godzilla struggled in this matchup, it's to be believed that Kong probably wouldn't stand a chance against someone like King Ghidorah. This also means that Godzilla is ready for just about anything.

7 Kong Could Win: Due to His Upbringing

What King Kong lacks in experience against alien and otherworldly foes he makes up in his upbringing. Growing up as a kaiju on Skull Island puts him right in the middle of the crossfire coming from tons of different kaiju creatures that want to prove themselves as the dominant creature.

If King Kong is on top this means that he's dealt with the best of the best and proved that he can take on almost any challenge.

6 Godzilla Could Win: Due to His Origins

godzilla prophecy

King Kong isn't the only one with a crazy upbringing, as the prophecy of Godzilla shows that he is literally destined to be the strongest of all kaiju life. In fact, the ending of Godzilla: King of Monsters, quite literally showed that he is the strongest of all monsters, taking down King Ghidorah and having the rest of Earth's kaiju life bow down to him.

5 Kong Could Win: Due to His Physical Strengths

Kong has some of the greatest physical strength of many kaiju simply due to the fact that he is an ape. As funny as it sounds, he simply has a greater reach and all-around power due to this physiology. That could certainly give him an edge in any battle.

4 Godzilla Could Win: Due to His Power

This not only includes the power in his physiology from his bite to his tail but also his famous atomic breath that the lizard monster has.

However, one thing that could conquer and counter that atomic breath is King Kong's movement. Again, this is due to his ape physiology, which makes him one of the kings of movement and agility in the kaiju world.

2 Godzilla Could Win: Due to The Tricks Up His Sleeve

Of course, Godzilla always has a trick or two up his sleeve as seen in his multiple films of the past. This monster always has a way to pull through and in a battle against King Kong, he may need more than one. Compared to the great ape, Godzilla certainly has more powers and abilities.

1 Kong Could Win: Due to His Growth
