Godzilla looks pretty good for 60! The kaiju plans to celebrate his birthday this year with a new film, simply titled Godzilla, as well as a return to theaters in his original form with Rialto Pictures' restored print called Godzilla: The Japanese Original.

Renamed Godzilla: King of the Monsters in the United States, the Ishirô Honda-directed film was originally known as Gojira when it debuted in 1954 in Japan. Before it was brought to the United States, the movie was dubbed with English speakers, and footage of Raymond Burr was shot and edited in. The American version only used about 60 of the 98 minutes in Honda's original.

U.S. audiences will get the chance to see the film as it was originally intended thanks to a restored, unedited and undubbed print making its way across the country after its April 12 at the TCM Classic Film Festival.

To find out if Godzilla: The Japanese Original is coming to a theater near year, keep an eye on Rialto's site.
