Following the latest Godzilla: King of the Monsters trailer that showcased the battle to come between humanity and the influx of Titans rising up to Earth's surface, a pair of new international posters put the truly epic battle between Godzilla and King Ghidorah front and center.
The Russian poster, unearthed by Twitter user The_LordOfSalem, showcases Godzilla being wrapped up by the three-headed dragon and hints that the giant lizard will be facing an uphill battle. The aforementioned trailer actually shows Ghidorah as the alpha to all monsters, while getting the upper hand over Godzilla, and this poster illustrates that apart from the sheer size difference, clearly three heads are better than one.
Courtesy of the Godzilla Movies fansite, we also have a glimpse into a Chinese poster which places the two beasts in a staredown rather than in battle itself.
Here, we see Ghidorah shooting its signature lightning with Godzilla getting ready to emit its iconic blue-hued atomic breath with the razed Capitol Hill as the backdrop.
Both visuals leave us excited for all the throwdowns the MonsterVerse has in store for us in May. While other posters have focused on highlighting Godzilla's size, these action-packed shots do a great job of conveying that Godzilla will have to have to take on the meanest version of Ghidorah ever seen on the big-screen if he wants to take the King of the Monsters crown for himself.
Directed by Michael Dougherty, Godzilla: King of the Monsters stars Vera Farmiga, Ken Watanabe, Sally Hawkins, Kyle Chandler, Millie Bobby Brown, Bradley Whitford, Thomas Middleditch, Charles Dance, O’Shea Jackson Jr., Aisha Hinds and Zhang Ziyi. The film opens May 31.
