Godzilla: King of the Monsters Debuts New Image

With Godzilla: King of the Monsters having wrapped production earlier this month, the upcoming kaiju-sized sequel has released a pair of new photos and a teaser poster for the film.

The official Japanese Godzilla Twitter account released the new images ahead of this weekend's Tokyo Comic-Con where new footage of the film is expected to debut. The images show the titular monster roaring in a rainy cityscape surrounded by helicopters as well as a behind-the-scenes photo of director Michael Dougherty. Also included is a stylized poster of the sequel's expected villain, King Ghidorah, battling Godzilla in a stunning painted style.

The new footage will be the first officially released content from the film since the premiere of its first trailer this past July.

With the sequel to 2014's Godzilla reboot approximately six months away from its wide release, the upcoming monster mash looks to dramatically ramp up the action and amount of classic monsters with a second trailer's release imminent.
