In both the Marvel and the DC Universes, mostly human heroes use absurd weapons to level the playing fields with the gods they face on a surprisingly regular basis. Even though Wonder Woman comes from divine origins, she and other DC characters wield weapons like the God Killer sword, the mightiest of Hephestases' personally crafted blades, the God Killer. Having appeared in both the DC Extended Universe and comics, the God Killer sword is a proper weapon that's designed to slay gods.

But for every mighty divine force, there is a force created by humanity to counter it. Even though Iron Man is a human hero, Tony Stark has to fend off gods and cosmic conquerors. When confronted with cosmic gods, Stark did what he does best and crafted a suit of armor: the Godkiller Armor.

Since Wonder Woman and the DC Universe has a God Killer Sword, and Iron Man has Godkiller Armor, we're taking a closer look at which one is really the superior weapon.

THE GOD KILLER SWORD

The God Killer might be Hephastes's greatest work, and that's really saying something, considering that the sword is sharp enough to shave electrons off atoms. The blade transforms into a form best suited for every combatant's fighting style and radiates eldritch energy that can tear the flesh of gods apart with is mere sparks. It can absorb and reflect back any form of energy, doubling its potency in the process. The God Killer is a blade with a will of its own, as seen when it blocked Superman's heat vision without its then-wielder, Deathstroke, even being aware of the action. It can clearly move and act at a speed that's comparable to Superman. By virtue of existing, the blade elevates a wielder's strength and power to incredible levels during the heat of battle.

It's important to note that, while Wonder Woman is intrinsically tied to the God Killer, she has seldom wielded it. Rather, the blade has been primarily harnessed by her adversaries, most notably Deathstroke, Darkseid's daughter Grail, and Cheetah. The only Godkiller sword that Wonder Woman has ever wielded was the blade's cinematic iteration, which was reduced to cinders when Diana turned it on Ares.

IRON MAN'S GODKILLER ARMOR

GODKILLER

Based on armor created by Celestial engineers, Tony Stark's Godkiller Armor MK II is an engineering triumph. Powered by eight nuclear reactors, Stark harnessed the armor when confronting the Dark Celestials, putting him on-par with the power of the cosmic entities. He gained the strength to lift the cosmic entities, whose powers are on par with those of Odin, in theory at least.

It possesses many of the typical abilities Iron Man does, such as flight and repulsor technology, only elevating them to be on-par with Celestials. Sadly, the armor was destroyed the same time it was deployed, and it blew up in an attempt to destroy the Celestial Callus the Void and the Dark Celestial horde.

WHICH IS MORE DANGEROUS?

Wonder Woman Godkiller

Logically, a comparison between the Godkiller Armor and the DCEU's Godkiller sword is unfair. But as wielded by Deathstroke and Cheetah, the God Killer looks surprisingly impressive. The sword can repel energy that it strikes, which could make Stark's repulsor tech entirely useless against the God Killer. While the armor would increase the wielder's strength, that might not be particularly effective against the God Killer sword.

The reality is that the Godkiller armor is impressive and balanced the playing field against the Celestials, but the armor was ultimately ineffective against them. However, the God Killer Sword has killed. Deathstroke finished his contract with the sword, and Grail managed to slay Ares with the blade. The sword might not be as flashy as Stark's armor, but it not only counters every main strength the Godkiller Armor possesses, but also has a track record that backs up the name. In a confrontation between the Godkiller Armor and God Killer Sword, the sword would most likely win.
