PlayStation exclusive God of War (2018) may be coming to PC in the near future.

As spotted by Twitter user @Nibellion, a recent listing of the beloved reboot of the hyper-violent action-adventure game was spotted on SteamDB. The website is known for keeping an up-to-date record and catalog of every game registered on Valve's digital storefront. The inclusion of God of War suggests that Sony may finally be porting Kratos' Norse adventure to PC.

While it's possible that the SteamDB listing is just a placeholder, it seems unlikely that Sony would go through the registration process if it wasn't planning a PC release for God of War. While PlayStation has previously opted to keep its exclusive games close to its console, the company has started to shift away from that model in recent years. Horizon Zero Dawn, Death Stranding and Days Gone were ported to PC, while Uncharted 4 and The Lost Legacy are due out in early 2022.

It should be noted that while the PC port may be a reality according to SteamDB, Sony and PlayStation have yet to offer any kind of confirmation. It might the case that God of War's departure from PlayStation exclusivity could be used as a promotion for the upcoming God of War: Ragnarok which will launch for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 at some point in the future.

Upon its release, God of War received universal praise from fans and critics alike. The game, which transitioned the ever-furious Kratos from Greek to Norse mythology, reinvented the franchise. Sweeping changes were made to combat, level design and exploration while the story focused more on the interpersonal relationship between Kratos and his son Atreus.

The sequel, God of War: Ragnarok, is expected to expand on the reboot and tie up the series' Norse saga. The recently revealed gameplay trailer shows the return of fan-favorite characters like Brok, Sindri and Mimir while teasing new threats. Thor is expected to play a significant role in the game's story as Kratos and Atreus declare war on Asgard in an attempt to prevent Ragnarok, the violent end of the world.

If you can't wait for the PC version of the game, then you'll need to play God of War on a PlayStation 4. You could also give it a whirl on PlayStation 5 thanks to backwards compatibility.
