God of War Ragnarök's overarching story continues from its 2018 predecessor and tackles many heavy-hitting themes such as fatherhood, fate, and trust. These emotional beats are there from the get-go and are reinforced and supported by an array of brilliant side-quests, known in-game as favors. These side-quests are extremely well-implemented and take players on a variety of heart-wrenching journeys across some stunning landscapes. However, they're also balanced by a few more humorous quests. One of the best favors, The Mysterious Orb, is given to Kratos by Lunda at Freyr's camp after completing the sixth story mission, The Reckoning.

The Dwarven blacksmith tasks the mighty God of War with bringing back an "irreplaceable" lost orb that she left along Vanaheim's river delta while fleeing from Odin's army. When Kratos questions her about the orb, she ignores him, simply saying that it'd make her extremely happy if he could return it. This request sparks Kratos' hilarious search for one of God of War Ragnarök's more ridiculous items.

How To Complete The Mysterious Orb & Find Lunda's Armor Pieces

God of War Ragnarök Cliffside Ruins

Along with the orb, Lunda mentions that she's also left three broken armor pieces around Vanaheim's river delta. It's worth collecting these, as Lunda can restore them for Kratos' use. The first piece, Lunda's belt, is found in Noatun's Garden, hidden in a chest behind the magically sealed door that's visible immediately upon docking the boat. Players should choose the one with the diamond seal on it. Thankfully, Kratos can carve open these seals with his knife, so reaching this piece is no issue.

The next piece, Lunda's bracers, is found at the Cliffside Ruins. Players should turn left upon docking and climb the wall facing East. The chest is at the top. While at this location, players will then need to open up access to The Veiled Passage. To do so, players should head back where they came from, but instead of climbing back down the wall, they should jump across the pillars in the middle of the area until they're facing the chain that's hidden by red vines. Next, use hex arrows to create a path for Kratos' Blades of Chaos to ignite the vines and then climb the chain. Players can interact with the runic seal at the top to open the way to The Veiled Passage.

Upon entering The Veiled Passage by boat, players will notice a docking station to the right once inside the long tunnel section. Lunda's Mysterious Orb is easily found on the beach there, right next to the smithing wheel. Continuing further down the tunnel leads to a final docking station. The red chest that's immediately visible houses the final piece of Lunda's broken armor set. With all four items obtained, it's time to head back to Lunda to complete her favors.

Why The Mysterious Orb Is God of War Ragnarök's Funniest Side-Quest

God of War Ragnarök The Mysterious Orb

Kratos is accustomed to completing favors and missions that have huge consequences -- he's used to dealing with Gods, after all. Accordingly, upon finding Lunda's orb, he immediately warns his companions to "be cautious. We know not what it does." His worry is soon ridiculed, however, when he returns the orb and learns its true nature.

It turns out that Lunda is very grateful that her pet dog, Helka, now has her ball back as it's her favorite toy to play with. Kratos seems very unamused that he's been sent to collect a dog's toy, but his companions certainly see the funny side. Mimir quips that "it's a good thing you were so cautious brother," while another replies, "He's right, Mimir. Show some respect. The squeaky toy could have been the death of us all." Kratos' annoyed grunts further add to the humor as he's clearly unimpressed and irritated at being used for such a mundane task.

Moments like these are important for balancing the emotionally hard-hitting parts of God of War Ragnarök's incredible story. However, not only is this favor worth completing for its hilarious results, but pleasing Lunda in this way also means that she'll restore her broken armor pieces for free, saving the player a lot of valuable Hacksilver.
