Sony released a star-studded new trailer for God of War Ragnarök.

The trailer, titled "All Parents Can Relate," sees a support group for famous fathers and their kids aspiring to have a relationship like Kratos and Atreus. In attendance are John Travolta and his daughter Ella, LeBron James and his son Bronny and Ben Stiller, leading the group in full Kratos cosplay, with his son Quinn. While the dads are enthusiastic to get child-rearing tips from the game, their children are more than a little skeptical of the idea, especially in regard to the costumes.

Sony is clearly having a ball hyping the much-anticipated sequel, having previously released a commercial featuring Rick and Morty filling the role of Ragnarök's main duo. However, Stiller and company may want to rethink their approach. The story trailer for Ragnarök released at PlayStation's State of Play shows a growing rift between Kratos and Atreus, as the young demigod has begun to keep secrets from his father -- a reverse of the previous game where Kratos hid his own godhood and bloody past with the Greek Pantheon from his son. The trailer also highlights the introduction of Tyr, Norse mythology's own war god, and Kratos' momentus duel with the vengeful thunder god Thor.

The New God of War Will Be Massive

Already Ragnarök is poised to be one of the biggest games of the year. It's been reported that the sequel will boast a whopping 40 hours of gameplay, split evenly between the story campaign and side-quests throughout the Nine Realms. Lead writer Rich Gaubert commented that there was so much content that Santa Monica Studio considered splitting Ragnarök in two. However, the game will also harken back to the series' roots, with senior gameplay animator Kim Nguyen saying the sequel's epic boss fights and set-pieces take inspiration from the pre-reboot era of the franchise.

But while the world of God of War will expand in the new entry, the gameplay itself won't be completely overhauled. Director Eric Williams described the changes made as less of an "evolution" and more a refinement of what was already established in the previous game. Instead, players will have a bevy of new features with which to carve their way through Midgard and beyond, with Santa Monica Studio encouraging them to "play with their food."

God of War Ragnarök releases Nov. 9 on PlayStation 4 and 5.
