God of War Ragnarök voice actor Christopher Judge has broken an acceptance speech record.

On Twitter, The Game Awards revealed Judge topped Greer Garson for the longest awards show acceptance speech in history. At the 1942 Academy Awards, Garson spoke for 5 minutes and 30 seconds after winning Best Actress for the romance war drama Mrs. Miniver. At 2022's Game Awards, Judge's speech clocked in at 7 minutes and 59 seconds after prevailing in the Best Performance category for playing Kratos in 2022's God of War Ragnarök.

In 2018's God of War, Judge replaced Terrence C. Carson as the franchise's protagonist. Carson previously voiced Kratos in the video game series from 2005 to 2013. Judge then took over the role in the 2018 PlayStation 4 game after the production team deemed Carson too short for the motion capture. They also noticed the chemistry between Judge and Sunny Sulijic, the voice behind Kratos' son Atreus.

Amazon Studios' Head of Television, Vernon Sanders, previously revealed the basis of God of War's first season. "At the center of it all is this story of fathers and sons, and families, set against this giant epic landscape," he said. "If you never played the game, you will fall in love with the show and feel very much invited in. So we think it's going to be huge." While many crew members will return from the video game series, it's unclear if past actors will reprise their characters' roles in the show.

God of War Ragnarök is available now for the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5. Prime Video's God of War series does not yet have a release date.
