The anime series is based on the popular South Korean Webtoon series by Yongje Park, as high schools across Korea participate in the eponymous high stakes martial arts tournament. The top three champions from the country are then selected to represent South Korea at the global stage against other highschoolers.

Each character in the extensive cast has their own distinct fighting style and motivation for entering the tournament, with Jin entering as it provides him with a chance to prove himself worthy to one of the judges, who had previously bested him in single combat.
