The Gorgeous Ladies of Wrestling are primed for their comeback. A new trailer for Netflix's GLOW reveals that the series will return for its second season this June.
The 80s-set wrestling comedy has a released a neon-lit, Day Glo-soaked trailer that shows the cast -- in all their spandex-wearing, teased-out glory -- dancing through the locker rooms to Michael Sembello's hit song Maniac from the Flashdance soundtrack. It also reveals that Season 2 will premiere on June 29.
The ten-episode second season of the acclaimed series promises to raise the stakes as the wrestlers of GLOW, led by Ruth (Alison Brie) and Debbie (Betty Gilpin), contend with their newfound fame now that they've become local celebrities. Meanwhile, Ruth and Debbie navigate the deep-seated issues at the heart of their friendship as they work on a new season of television. The in-series director and showrunner Sam (Marc Maron) will also have to beat audience expectations by topping the previous season of GLOW, even as his teenage daughter Justine (Britt Baron) moves in with him.
Debuting June 2017, GLOW was created by Liz Flahive and Carly Mensch, who also executive produce the series with Orange Is the New Black creator Jenji Kohan. The series follows struggling actors in 1980s Los Angeles who begin a low-budget wrestling television series and dive headfirst into the world of professional wrestling. Netflix officially renewed the series for a second season last August.
Starring Alison Brie, Betty Gilpin and Marc Maron, GLOW Season 2 is set to return June 29 on Netflix.
