Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery star Janelle Monáe says that she would love to have an acting career like Johnny Depp's.

As reported by Deadline, Monáe revealed during the London Film Festival’s final major keynote "screen talk" that she aims to have her acting career emulate that of Johnny Depp's in terms of scope and variety of roles. "When I think about careers, this person as an actor, his life an as an actor only, Johnny Depp has a very vast career," she said.

The actor then went on to say that she wants to follow in Depp's footsteps and portray characters that withstand the test of time and are dynamic and memorable. "The amount of roles: Willy Wonka to Sweeney Todd to all of the dramatic roles. Whatever the Janelle Monáe version of that is," she said. "Maybe something even better, but I want to be able to do those sorts of like transformative characters that people are dressing up as for Halloween. Something grounded but embedded in the hearts and minds of children forever."

Monáe also spoke about her upcoming role as tech entrepreneur Cassandra "Andi" Brand in Rian Johnson's Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery. She was apparently so impressed by Looper, Johnson’s third feature film starring Bruce Willis and Joseph Gordon-Levitt, that she agreed to be involved in the Knives Out sequel before even taking a glance at its script. "That film is a film I wish I'd written, wish I'd starred in, all the above," she said of Looper.
