Gintama: The Very Final officially has a release date for North America.

According to Crunchyroll, Eleven Arts Pictures' conclusion to the anime series will hit the big screen on Nov. 21 and Nov. 22. The film will screen in English dubbed form and in the original Japanese with English subtitles. The film opened in Japan this past January, dethroning Demon Slayer - Kimetsu No Yaiba: The Movie: Mugen Train and its record-breaking 12-week streak at the top of the Japanese box office.

Based on Hideaki Sorachi's manga series, Gintama: The Very Final is directed and written by Chizuru Miyawaki, with Bandai Namco Pictures handling the animation. While the English dub cast has yet to be revealed, the Japanese version stars Tomokazu Sugita as Gintoki Sakata, Daisuke Sakaguchi as Shinpachi Shimura, Rie Kugimiya as Kagura, Koichi Yamadera as Utusuro/Shoyo Yoshida, Takehito Koyasu as Shinsuke Takasugi, Akira Ishida as Kotaro Katsura, Susumu Chiba as Isao Kondo, Kazuya Nakai as Toshiro Hijikata and Kenichi Suzumura as Sogo Okit.

Written and illustrated by Sorachi, Gin Tama follows freelancing samurai Gintoki Sakata as he takes on one-off tasks to pay his rent in an alien-conquered Japan. The manga ran for 77 volumes between December 2003 and June 2019. The series has spawned various anime series and a live-action film now streaming on Amazon Prime Video.

Gintoki and the others set out to fulfill the wishes of their teacher Shoyo and thwart Utsuro's plans. Shinpachi, Kagura, the Shinsengumi, members of the Kabuki District, and even former enemies will join their fight.
