Fox's X-men drama The Gifted has expanded its cast of mutants with the addition of Skyler Samuels (Scream Queens) in "a key recurring role."

While the actor's role is unknown, Deadline describes her as "a refugee mutant with telepathic abilities and a mysterious past."

There is a long list of Marvel Comics characters with telepathic powers, so trying to guess who Samuels is playing is the ultimate guessing game. It's probably safe to eliminate the likes of notable telepaths Jean Grey, Emma Frost and Psylocke, especially with them having appeared in films. However, there are still more candidates like the Stepford Cuckoos, Karma, and even Charles Xavier twin sister Cassandra Nova, who would put an entirely new spin on the hour-long series.
