Gibbons Pays Homage To Miller In "Dark Knight III: The Master Race" Variant

DC Entertainment has unveiled the latest image that will grace variant covers for their upcoming, highly-anticipated series "Dark Knight III: The Master Race." The image comes from acclaimed artist Dave Gibbons ("Watchmen") and features his take on Frank Miller's Batman and Robin as they leap into action.

This Dave Gibbons variant is the latest in a line of alternate covers announced by DC. Other artists contributing variant covers to the project include Lee Bermejo, Rafael Albuquerque, Tyler Kirkham, Klaus Janson and Eduardo Risso.

The sequel to the seminal "Dark Knight Returns" and its follow-up "The Dark Knight Strikes Again," "Dark Knight III: The Master Race" is written by Frank Miller, the architect of the "Dark Knight" universe, and Brian Azzarello, with art primarily from Andy Kubert and Klaus Janson, the latter whom inked Miller's art in the original story. "The Dark Knight III: The Master Race" #1 is scheduled for release on Nov. 25.
