BOOM! Studio's college based slice-of-life comic Giant Days will soon reach a whole new audience. Announced today at WonderCon, a partnership with Abrams Books will bring a Giant Days young adult novel by British author Non Pratt to bookstores worldwide.

The series follows three young women -- homeschooled Daisy Wooton, goth bombshell Esther De Groot and loveable curmudgeon Susan Ptolemy -- as they navigate their first year of university, with all the headaches, heartbreaks and hell that comes with it.

Created by John Allison, Giant Days debuted as a webcomic spin-off of his long-running strip Scary Go Round, which also featured the character of Esther. The series was later picked up by BOOM! Studios as one of the first titles under the young adult BOOM! Box imprint.

Speaking about adapting Giant Days into prose, author Non Pratt said, "I haven’t stopped recommending the Giant Days comics to everyone since I first discovered them myself – now I have another excuse to talk about three of the funniest, fiercest young women in literature. I can’t wait for YA readers to get to know Susan, Daisy and Esther the way that I have, finding out what first-term adventures are in store at Sheffield University. I’ve had far too much fun writing this I can’t believe it counts as work!”

Giant Days joins Lumberjanes at Abrams Books. Andrew Smith, Senior Vice President and Publisher of Abrams Children’s Books and Abrams ComicArts, stated, “We’re big fans of the Giant Days graphic novel series here at ABRAMS. And we’re thrilled to have Non Pratt writing an original YA novel based on the comics--she brings a fresh and fun take on the adventures and friendships of the beloved characters. We expect it to be a big hit among fans and new readers alike! "

Publication of the novel, simply titled Giant Days is slated for Autumn 2018 on the Abrams Books for Young Readers list.
