Paramount Pictures has announced release dates for several films based on popular Hasbro properties.
Yo, Joe...just so you know. Paramount drops a new GI JOE March 27, 2020. Remember, knowing is half the battle.— Exorcist Relations (@ERCboxoffice) December 18, 2017
The studio will revisit the G.I. Joe franchise with the new film expected to hit theaters on March 27, 2020. This new entry will be a reboot of the previous film franchise from Paramount.
Paramount's MICRONAUTS hits theaters October 16, 2020.— Exorcist Relations (@ERCboxoffice) December 18, 2017
The studio also seems to be doubling down on toy franchises with a film based on the Micronauts set for release on Oct. 16, 2020. The popular toy line from the '70s has seen a recent return to shelves with Hasbro.
Paramount rolls the dice on DUNGEONS & DRAGONS, which drops July 23, 2021.— Exorcist Relations (@ERCboxoffice) December 18, 2017
Hollywood will also try to adapt Dungeons & Dragons again with a new film out on July 23, 2021. Paramount will hope it can do better than 2000's D&D film distributed by New Line Cinema.
UNTITLED PARAMOUNT/HASBRO EVENT FILM has been slated for October 1, 2021.— Exorcist Relations (@ERCboxoffice) December 18, 2017
Perhaps most interesting is the apparent existence of a crossover film from Paramount using Hasbro properties set for a release on Oct. 1, 2021. Considering we now know that G.I. Joe and Micronauts are in the works, it's possible that this could be a film that sees the properties cross over into the Transformers shared universe.
With these announcements, and the release of Bumblebee: The Movie next December, it looks like Paramount is going all-in with Hasbro.
