Video game publisher Pik Pok has announced an all-new Ghostbusters event for Into the Dead 2 that will be available for two weeks only, starting today. The officially licensed event was developed in collaboration with Sony Pictures Consumer Products and Ghost Corps.
“Ghostbusters has been a beloved and enduring property for 35 years, and it has been wonderful to see the care and love the team at PikPok have brought to this project,” Jamie Stevens, Executive Vice President, Worldwide Consumer Products for Sony Pictures Entertainment, said in a statement. “Fans of Ghostbusters have never seen an event like this before, and we can’t wait for them to experience this latest journey into the Ghostbusters universe that PikPok has created.”
The game will allow the players to work alongside the original Ghostbusters in a brand new storyline. The game will feature the signature technology, humor and characters from the franchise, along with brand-new adversaries and upgrades to their ever-expanding arsenal.
“Working with the Ghostbusters franchise has been a tremendous opportunity for us, and one which has stretched us creatively,” Mario Wynands, Managing Director of PikPok, shared. “Being able to marry the iconic characters, world and humour of Ghostbusters with the unique gameplay and storytelling experience of Into the Dead 2 we hope will be a welcome addition to the Ghostbusters canon.”
Pik Pok's Into the Dead and its sequel Into the Dead 2 have been downloaded over 100 million since the series launched in 2012. Into the Dead 2's storyline has players racing to save their family during a zombie apocalypse. They must contend with dangerous environments while fighting the overwhelming hordes of the undead with an assembly of powerful weapons.
Into the Dead 2's Ghostbusters event is available for download at the App Store and Google Play.
