Sigourney Weaver will reprise her role as Dana Barrett in Jason Reitman's upcoming Ghostbusters movie.

In an interview with Parade, Weaver confirmed her return to the franchise, while also indicating she'll reunite with Bill Murray and Dan Aykroyd for the film. "It's going to be crazy working with the guys again," she said. Outside of confirming her return as Dana Barrett, Weaver didn't divulge any further information regarding the film.

Debuting in 1984's Ghostbusters, Barrett served as the love interest for Peter Venkman (Murray), and seemed to be a magnet for supernatural shenanigans in both films. In the first film, she was possessed by Zuul, while in the second movie her son, Oscar, was targeted by an evil spirit.

Ghostbusters 3 will reportedly focus on the next generation of recruits -- two teenage boys and girls -- for the titular team. Mckenna Grace, Finn Wolfhard and Carrie Coon will be new additions to the film.

Ghostbusters is directed by Jason Reitman (Up in the Air) who also co-wrote the film with Gil Kenan (Monster House). The film stars Finn Wolfhard, Carrie Coon and Mckenna Grace and is scheduled for release on July 20, 2020.
